As Facilitator
I view teaching/facilitation in a workshop as a collaborative process of inquiry that connects critical thinking with creative practice. My classrooms/workshop spaces combine discussion, experimentation, research, and making, enabling students to develop intellectual rigour alongside artistic confidence.
I have designed and facilitated workshops in acting, devised performance, movement, dramaturgy, and performance as research. My workshops draw on interdisciplinary approaches to performance-making, combining embodied practice with critical inquiry and collaborative creation. In 2023, I curated and conducted Playing with Movement and co-facilitated Building an Idea for Performance at Uss Paar Artists’ Residency in Kashid, India. I have also led Text to Stage, an intensive devised theatre workshop with ICS Theatre, and conducted workshops and lecture series on research methodology, performance-making, and artistic practice for artists, researchers, and students, including at Kolkata Centre for Creativity.

I have over a decade of experience teaching across university, conservatory, and professional training contexts in India and the United States. As Assistant Professor of Theatre and Performance Studies at IIT Bombay, I taught undergraduate courses including Trends in Twentieth Century Drama, Language and Literature, Reading Literature, and Introduction to the Arts, alongside postgraduate courses on Archive and the Arts, Performance Historiography and Documentation, Performance Theory and Praxis, and Aesthetics and Criticism. I also taught Research Methodology to postgraduate students at the Industrial Design Centre of IIT Bombay.
Moreover, I have taught intercultural acting at Drama School Mumbai, performance studies at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, theatre appreciation at NMIMS, and directed the final-year production for MA acting students at Lalit Kala Kendra, Pune University.
